2020 Game of The Year

What a great year…for games. The end of the generation, specifically the PS4 delivered on three fantastic games after years of anticipation.

Honorable mentions

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

It's a better, more succinct version of the 2018’s Spider-Man and honestly Miles is a superior character, yet it's atill.not the true iteration we'll see with Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and it's still derivative, but it nails down the current formula as well as it could.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Perhaps if Final Fantasy VII Remake was the full game, and not just the expanded opening section of the original, this could've won. However the expansion upon and frankly retelling of the original was done about as well as anyone could of hoped.

The Last of Us Part II

Never has a game had you question right and wrong from multiple perspectives, so much so that certain parts of the game can have you rooting against the protagonist during multiple sections. This is all on top of the massive improvements to the gameplay, most notably speed that make this one of the best games of the generation.

2020 Game of the Year

Ghost of Tsushima

The bias of samurai genre is only one reason this was the best game of the year. It's true that it's design is derivative, heavily influenced by the Assassin’s Creed franchise but featuring refined combat and the most beautiful graphics, Ghost of Tsushima was a tremendous send off of the PS4.
